A belated update of all that's been happening and that's in the works. I've been in L.A. now for 2 months. It's been a crazy whirlwind of major life happenings. (As if the move wasn't enough).
I'm settled in a pretty nice apartment in Canoga Park with the most amazing friend and roommate possible. The kitchen is bitty, the bathroom is even bittier, but we are slowly making it as zen as we can. I eagerly signed up for Casting Central and Booked Talent to do background work. (so far nothing has come of that). And got a Commercial agent. (so far nothing has come of that either). But through a bit of my own work I've been busy with auditions last week and this coming week. My first L.A. audition was for a student short film at L.A. Film Academy and I got the role. It's unpaid but I feel incredibly blessed for the opportunity and experience. I also looking on landing my first audition as a sign that I'm on the right path. I've had one other audition so far. Tomorrow I have two, then another on Friday and another on Sunday. I bought a car yesterday. I'm still in shock. My poor car of 13 years in the last couple weeks started having more and more problems, overheating, stalling, AC pooped out completely. It was time. I was lucky enough to get an awesome experience at Huntington Beach Toyota. Amazing staff, completely low pressure. Genuinely wanted to help me get into something safe and practical that wouldn't stress me out financially. I got a really darling Scion. I have my first Re Creo event coming up on the 22nd. I'm beyond excited. I've picked an awesome line up of wines to go with the food. Re Creo at the Pier will be in San Clemente at a beautiful resort on the beach. The food is a combination of our two chef's cultures Peru and Italy and it's going to be delicious! I got certified as a ServSafe manager today and am working on becoming a Instructor/Proctor. This is an amazing opportunity and I'm extremely grateful. All food service employees and managers in California are required to have instruction and a test to get a permit. I will teach and monitor testing along with my roommate Kate. It's flexible with my schedule and consistent, good work. I'm incredibly happy. I feel like I'm back on the path I'm meant to be on after having gotten a little lost for a while. It is really comforting.
