When my back was at it's worst I was given the gift of gratitude. An amazing friend and mentor told me focus on what you are grateful for. It can be as simple as "Tea" or "Netflix"... work your way up to 10. I still try to focus on what I'm grateful for every day and make my list of 10.
.Time with Mom. (We spend a lot of time independently doing our own thing but getting to spend a little time together every day is really great)
.Feeling safe… My body is starting to relax and heal (My amazing chiropractor Dr. Tim Dudley of The Chiropractor at Whitefish is helping with this. Check out his Instagram it goes into the zone treatment he does, he also does reiki.
.I have a grocery store literally 3 minutes away. Monday night I went to the store got ice cream to go with dinner with the family and came home in under 10 minutes. (It took me 20 minutes to get to the store in Page)
.My cats! Chai has had so much energy since moving here! Mango has been more snuggly. They love watching all the birds out the window. (They have their own instagram check them out... @a_kitty_named_chai
.My friend Francisco. He’s one of my very best friends and has been on his own amazing healing journey. We are support for one another and its so great to be near him again. Today we spent some healthy time at the gym and swimming in the pool and soaking in the hot tub! I met a nice man named Mike who introduced me to Aqua jogging. He had an extra belt he let me borrow. This is WONDERFUL… most physical things cause me a lot of pain. I was able to do this for about an hour (My watch said 2 miles) (It sucked getting out of the pool... and I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow but it was AWESOME). I need to figure out how to have gym membership in my budget.
.Writing… I’m not sure if anyone’s watching or reading but it feels therapeutic to get it out there and if I help some people or inspire thought… well even better.
.Restaurants! There’s some great ones in the Flathead and it’s been great trying the new ones! I wasn’t super wild about Panera today (I’d never been before, but it might just be what I picked, it was certainly crowded). (I had the chicken tikka masala soup ((tastes nothing like chicken tikka masala)) and the mediterranean vegetable sandwich ((only thing mediterranean about it was hummus?)). So much bread!) I did like the mango guava lemonade though.
